Yūgen
“Subtly profound grace, not obvious”
Yūgen is not an allusion to another world. It is about this world, this experience. Yūgen suggested beauty only partially perceived, fully felt but barely glimpsed by the viewer.
This project is a visual exploration of Yūgen, an important and complex concept in traditional Japanese aesthetics through pictures taken in places such as Kyoto, Kanazawa, Naoshima, Nikko or Tokyo.
